Supreme Court grants interim bail to Arnab Goswami in 2018 abetment to suicide case

New Delhi: Republic TV’s Arnab Goswami walked out of Taloja Jail in Maharashtra late Wednesday evening, hours after the Supreme Court granted him interim bail. Goswami was arrested six days ago in connection with an abetment to suicide case.

His release came a day after a huge controversy over the immediate listing of his plea for bail when the court was on a Diwali recess. Supreme Court Bar Association president Dushyant Dave wrote a letter to the Chief Justice in his personal capacity over the overnight listing at the instructions of the CJI.
