Sundar Pichai leaves Google employees worried about layoffs

Silicon Valley technology companies are on a firing spree and Google is reported to be one of them. Previous reports claimed that Google might lay off employees after CEO Sundar Pichai hinted at possible cuts. The top executive has once again left the sword hanging over employees’ jobs after he dodged the question in a recent meeting.

As per a report by Business Insider, Pichai was asked about the job cuts during an all-hands meeting. The CEO said that it was “tough to predict the future” and he can’t honestly make “forward-looking commitments” about the same.

“What the company is trying hard to do is to make important decisions, be disciplined, prioritise where we can, rationalise where we can, so that we are set up to better weather the storm, regardless of what’s ahead.
