Strong demand from Indian service providers drives Q2 revenue for Ciena in India: Gary Smith, CEO
NEW DELHI: US-based telecom equipment maker Ciena’s India revenue increased 88% in the second quarter year-on-year to around $70 million, driven by strong demand from local service providers, the company’s chief executive Gary Smith said.
“We also continue to drive growth outside of the U.S. In particular, in Q2, Asia Pacific revenue was up 60% year-over-year. This was largely driven by continued revenue growth in India, which was up 88% year-over-year in Q2 to about $70 million, reflecting consistent strong demand from service providers in that market,” he said during the earnings call.
