Stone laid for first-of-its-kind cyber operations centre in Chandigarh

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday laid the foundation stone of India’s first Centre for Cyber Operations & Security at Sector 17 in Chandigarh, which will come up at a cost of Rs 88 crore.

The minister, while laying the foundation stone on Monday, lauded the initiative of Chandigarh Police for conceptualising and raising a demand with the Union Home ministry for setting up of this one-of-its-kind centre in the UT in 2022. As per details, the centre is being constructed under the Cyber Crime Prevention against Women & Children scheme.
