Staffer caught trying to smuggle mobile into jail

Bengaluru: A prison staffer was recently held on charges of trying to smuggle a phone into Bengaluru Central Jail.

The arrested is Bhanu Prakash HR, a vehicle cleaner in the department of prisons and correctional services and posted in the prison.

According to a complaint filed by a senior prison officer, Prakash was caught while he was frisked at checking division – 2. Karnataka State Industrial Security Force staff found the phone hidden in his inner wear. Prakash said the phone was to be given to a prisoner.
