Spotify now tunes into Indian market, premium plans at Rs 119 per month

Two days ahead of this India launch, Spotify was sued by Warner Bros in the Bombay High Court over certain music rights

The long awaited music streaming service Spotify, finally launched in India on Wednesday along with a special India price.

The basic Spotify streaming comes as a free download, supported by ads. But for the premium service, which comes with better bitrate and ad-free experience, you’d have to shell out Rs 119 per month. The same service in the United States (US) costs $9.99 a month. The Spotify app is now available on mobile, desktop and tablet and can be played on a wide range of speaker and home devices.
