Spending has rebounded with shoppers switching to online: Flipkart Group CEO
Consumer spending has rebounded over the last few months and during the ongoing festive season, although the recovery has been slow and steady, said Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO, Flipkart Group.
In an interview with ET’s Alnoor Peermohamed and Aditi Shrivastava, Krishnamurthy said the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the shift to online commerce from physical shopping as consumers remain wary of stepping out. He also said Flipkart – which recently picked up about 8% stake in Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail and is reportedly in talks to invest in the Tata group — was exploring partnerships with modern retail brands if they have complementary capabilities.
