Son ends life after mother refuses money for mobile recharge

A 17-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide after his mother denied him money to recharge the mobile phone at Kurma village under Pindrajor Police Station of Bokaro district in Jharkhand.

According to the police, the body of the youth was found hanging from a Palash tree in Babaji forest at Pindrajora on Saturday evening. The deceased, Banti Bauri is suspected to have killed himself because his mother did not give in to his demand of Rs 200 to recharge the mobile phone, police said.

Banti had been missing since Wednesday afternoon. The villagers found him hanging from a tree, and later, they called the police and the body was brought down from the tree, police said.
