Snack Video, Zili, Resso and several others escape China apps ban

Mumbai: Several Chinese apps including Snack Video, Zili and Resso are among the top 100 free Android apps in the country that have yet to be banned, even as the government barred 118 more Chinese apps on Wednesday.

Snack Video is a Singapore-based app that is seen as a TikTok alternative and whose parent, Kuaishou Technology, is a popular Chinese software company backed by Chinese internet conglomerate Tencent. It is the top free app on Google Play Store charts right now and has been so for the last many weeks since the first set of Chinese apps was banned late in June.
