Smartphone revenue to grow over 10%: Samsung

NEW DELHI: Samsung, under intense pressure from Chinese companies such as Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo, refuses to be cowed down. The company has said that its smartphone sales revenue in India will grow beyond 10% this year, “faster than the forecast for the broader industry”, and a major fillip will be provided by healthy demand for its premium devices such as the Galaxy S and Note Series.

“The smartphone market has not seen any pressure and has been witnessing a steady growth this year,” Ranjivjit Singh, Samsung India senior VP and chief marketing officer, told TOI after launching the flagship Note 10 device.

The company has been increasing its focus on the premium market where it also sells the A80 device priced at Rs 48,000.
