Smart TVs powered by Pentonic 1000 chipset to launch by 1Q23: MediaTek

NEW DELHI: Taiwanese fabless chipmaker on Friday launched its Pentonic 1000 chipset for smart TVs with support for 4K streaming and cloud gaming capabilities.

MediaTek in a statement said that smart TVs powered by the Pentonic 1000 chipset will launch by Q1 of 2023.

The MediaTek Pentonic 1000 has a multi-core CPU, dual-core GPU, a dedicated AI processing unit (APU) and video decoding engines. The chipset provides resolution support up to 4K at 120Hz and is capable of variable refresh rate (VRR) of up to 4K at 144Hz for gaming applications.
