Smart City project to drive LoRaWAN adoption in India

NEW DELHI: India’s ambitious smart cities project is going to drive the adoption of LoRaWAN (low power wide area network) based Internet of Things (IoT) in the country, Donna Moore, CEO & Chairwoman of the LoRa Alliance said, adding that use cases around agriculture, human safety, and environmental conservation will also give a push to the technology.

“India is rapidly driving LoRaWAN (low power wide area network) IoT ecosystem forward,” Moore said while giving a presentation for ETTelecom’s webinar. “The technology, which offers a host of vertical market deployments, can be used in various spaces like smart agriculture, animal safety, water conservation, air quality checks, industrial IoT among others with Smart Cities being the most talked-about area of interest.”
