Signals are clear: DTH operations of Airtel, Dish TV may merge

MUMBAI: Bharti Airtel, promoters of Dish TV and private equity firm Warburg Pincus have agreed to merge direct-to-home operations of Airtel and Dish after months of negotiations, a move that will create the world’s largest TV distribution company, two people with direct knowledge of the development said.

The three parties are agreed on deal structure, wherein the DTH business of Dish TV India will be hived off and merged in Bharti Telemedia, which houses Airtel Digital TV, they said.
