Share market update: Telecom shares rise; GTL Infra jumps 3%

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Telecom index was up in Thursday’s afternoon session with most of its components trading in the green.

Shares of GTL Infrastructure (up 3.23 per cent), Vodafone Idea (up 1.93 per cent), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (up 1.34 per cent) and Himachal Futuristic Communications (up 1.31 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Tejas Networks (up 1.16 per cent), Aksh Optifibre (up 1.04 per cent), GTPL Hathway (up 0.87 per cent) and ITI (up 0.74 per cent) too were trading higher.
