Share market update: Telecom shares mixed; Sterlite Tech jumps 8%

NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading on a mixed note in Tuesday’s afternoon session.

Shares of Sterlite Technologies (up 7.95 per cent), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (up 3.70 per cent), OnMobile GlobalNSE 2.58 % (up 1.89 per cent) and Bharti Airtel (up 1.53 per cent) were trading in the positive zone.

Tejas Networks (down 4.29 per cent), HFCL (down 2.93 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (down 2.17 per cent) and Vindhya Telelinks (down 2.14 per cent) were trading lower.

The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 1.02 per cent up at 1009.15 around 11:41 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 17.20 points at 11,644.65 while the BSE Sensex was down 120.64 points at 39,177.74.
