Share market update: Telecom shares jump; ITI gains 8%

NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading in the positive note in Thursday’s morning session.

Shares of ITI (up 8.14 per cent), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (up 7.51 per cent), Tejas Network (up 5.43 per cent), Reliance Communications (up 3.9 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 2.73 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (up 2.56 per cent), Vindhya Telelinks (up 2.34 per cent), Optiemus Infracom (up 2.2 per cent), OnMobile Global (up 1.43 per cent), Bharti Infratel Ltd (up 1.36 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (up 1.34 per cent), Vodafone Idea (up 0.57 per cent) and HFCL Ltd (up 0.29 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 2.45 per cent up at 1273.79 around 11:05 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 20.15 points at 12109.3 , while the BSE Sensex was up 53.45 points at 41196.11.
