Share market update: Telecom shares down; Vodafone Idea dips 1%

NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading lower in Friday’s session.

Shares of GTL Infrastructure (down 3.03 per cent) , HFCL Ltd (down 2.99 per cent) , Sterlite Technologies (down 2.93 per cent) , Aksh Optifibre (down 2.58 per cent) , Reliance Communications (down 2.41 per cent) , Vindhya Telelinks (down 1.58 per cent) , OnMobile Global (down 1.42 per cent) , ITI (down 1.05 per cent) , Vodafone Idea (down 0.91 per cent) , Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (down 0.58 per cent) and Bharti Airtel (down 0.15 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 0.01 per cent up at 1311.96 around 02:33PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 77.95 points at 9028.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 287.15 points at 30645.75.
