SenRa completes LoRaWAN deployment across 60 cities in India
IoT applications provider SenRa Friday said that it has deployed its Long range wide area network (LoRaWAN) across 60 cities in India adding that it seeks to expand the network’s coverage to 100 cities by 2020 end.
The network deployment by 2020, the company believes, will be critical for the government’s Smart Cities mission.
SenRa–a low power wide-area networks (LPWANs) provider for long range-based Internet of Things (IoT) applications, alongside players like Tata Communications is eyeing the Indian IoT market by pushing LoRaWAN technology deployment in government and industrial projects.
“We are very excited to be an integral part of India’s digital transformation”, said SenRa CEO, Ali Hosseini. “I am proud of our team for continuing to meet the aggressive deployment goals set forth all while maintaining our standards of high quality reliable networks.”
Industry analysts suggest that with awareness being spread about the LoRaWAN technology, it is now being considered for various projects like Smart City mission and even in the industrial IoT space, and that it would be able to satisfy about 70% of smart city requirements in India.
LoRaWAN is a global network standard supported by the LoRa Alliance with more than 500+ active company members and 100+ public operators globally
