Second Covid-19 wave to impact Indian smartphone market growth in 2Q21: IDC

NEW DELHI: The uncertainty around the lasting impact of the second wave of Covid-19 as well as the possibility of a third wave in a few months is expected to impact the growth of the Indian smartphone market in the April-June quarter, according to the International Data Corporation’s (IDC) Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker.

This is after the Indian smartphone market registered a healthy growth of 18% on-year in the 1Q21 (January-March) quarter, totaling 38 million units but declining by 14% from 4Q20.
