Scores of K’put, R’gada villages to get mobile connectivity

In a reply to a starred question on November 20, 2020, on mobile services in rural and scheduled areas, the Union Minister of Communications had mentioned that under LWE (Left Wing Extremism) Phase – II project, 2,217 mobile towers had been approved for mobile connectivity, covering various States, including Odisha.Unfortunately, however, not a single tower came up in Koraput LokSabha constituency, consisting of Rayagada and Koraput districts(Aspirational) in the last two years by the BSNL. Mobile connectivityis still not available in most of the areas in the two districts which is creating a lot of problems, be it addressing health emergencies,implementation of State and Central Government schemes, connecting people to the mainstream and maintaining law and order situation etc.“
