SC turns down TikTok plea to transfer case from Madras HC

The Supreme Court has refused to entertain a plea by Chinese video-sharing app TikTok to take over an ongoing case against it in the Madras High Court.

The lower court is hearing a petition seeking a ban of the popular app on the grounds that it is circulating explicit content.

A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Deepak Gupta said on Thursday that the Madras High Court was competent to handle the case.
