SC agrees to hear plea challenging administrative internet shutdown orders

The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear a public interest litigation (PIL) moved by software policy group Software Freedom Law Centre (SFLC), India challenging the administrative internet shutdown orders issued by government departments at the state and central levels.

The apex court has issued a notice to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and sought its response to the PIL.
