Satcom: Top bureaucrats, experts bat for resolution of security issues, FDI, tax holidays

NEW DELHI: Security issues should be resolved to meet spectrum requirements for the commercial and defence applications, and the government should allow optimum foreign direct investment (FDI), as well as tax holidays, and capital subsidies in the nascent satellite communications (satcom) sector, top bureaucrats and experts said at the India Satcom Symposium.

Organised by ETSatcom, the first edition of India Satcom Symposium has seen participation from top industry executives worldwide as well as regulatory and government officials from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (Inspace), Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), NewSpace India Limited (Nsil), and the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro).
