Satcom group seeks participation in Trai’s consultation process for spectrum auction

NEW DELHI: Satellite communications or satcom players, fearing to lose mmWave band to telecom carriers, have asked the sector regulator to allow their participation in the upcoming consultation process for spectrum auction, recently referred by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

In a letter to Trai chairman PD Vaghela, dated September 27, the Satellite Industry Association (SiA) India said, “We expect Trai to come out with similar consultation papers on this reference from DoT so that the industry stakeholders across the satellite industry can participate and voice their opinions.
