Saradha Case: CBI blames the uncooperative service providers in Supreme Court
NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that telecom service providers, including Vodafone Idea and Airtel, were not cooperating in the investigation into the alleged scam involving the Saradha chit fund.
The CBI had asked Vodafone Idea and Airtel to provide details of the information exchanged with the West Bengal Police, but the service providers failed to give any concrete answers to their queries, the agency claimed. It also said that the call details of the two prime accused, Sudipto Sen and Debjani Mukherjee, were required for the probe, but even these were not provided by the two companies.
The West Bengal Police was provided with all call details by the service providers, but state police officials did not hand over the complete dossier, the CBI alleged. Only select call details were shared, after repeated reminders for 14 months, the CBI said.
