Samsung tops smartwatch market in India: IDC

Samsung has emerged as biggest smartwatch manufacturer in India during the second quarter ending June 2021 (April-May-June), according to IDC Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker. According to the report, Samsung’s smartwatch shipments jumped 860% year-on-year growth, catapulting the company to number 1 position in the country.

The sales of Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3 Series in India reportedly helped Samsung reach the top spot in the market. Samsung ended the June quarter with 41.2% volume market share.

Samsung recently opened pre-bookings for Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in India. Galaxy Watch 4 series is the company’s first exclusive smartwatch exclusively for Android users.
