Samsung sees ‘value’ in going online exclusive
The Korean company plans to further push online growth by launching new online-exclusive devices in the coming months in a bid to edge out Xiaomi which leads the overall smartphone space, mainly due to its huge lead in the e-commerce space.
Asim Warsi, senior vice-president, mobile business, Samsung India, told ET that Samsung’s online growth is largely buoyed by the M series, along with A and S series that are also available across online channels. Samsung has sold over 2 million devices from M-series in just four months till May. “Our aim is to maintain 25% value share of the handset industry in online.”
