Samsung, NSDC partner to train 50,000 Indian youth
NEW DELHI: Samsung India on Tuesday said it has partnered with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to train 50,000 youths under a CSR initiative, ‘Samsung DOST’ (Digital & Offline Skills Training), to equip them with skills needed for working in the electronics retail sector
Under the first phase, NSDC will train 2,500 participants at 120 sites across the country. These participants will be school passouts and will be provided with paid on-the-job training (OJT) at Samsung’s retail outlets, said an official statement.
Under Samsung DOST, the participants will receive 200 hours of blended classroom and online training, followed by five months of OJT at Samsung retail stores, along with a monthly stipend that will prepare them for India’s fast-growing electronics retail sector.
