Samsung may drop Galaxy Note21 series launch in 2021 over Qualcomm chipset shortage

Samsung is reportedly planning to shelve the Galaxy Note series this year, as the company’s partner Qualcomm may not fulfill enough Snapdragon chipsets for the flagship phone.

Koh Dong-jin, CEO, Samsung Mobile in the annual shareholders meet has revealed that there is a “serious imbalance” in semiconductor supply and demand, reported Bloomberg.

The company is finding it increasingly difficult to launch two flagship phones this year and may not release the Note21 series this year.

The good news is that Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note in 2022. Those planning to upgrade their old Note series to a new model have to wait for another year. If they really need to change, they can go for the Galaxy S21 Ultra (review), as it supports S Pen.
