Samsung may be planning to ‘shut’ this popular flagship series
NEW DELHI: Samsung may have opened the next chapter of smartphone innovation at its Galaxy Unpacked 2019 event, but it is quite possible that the same event marks the end of its decade-old Galaxy S-series smartphones. According to a report by South Korean website Yonhap News Agency, Samsung is “examining a new naming arrangement for its next generation flagship phones.”
The report cites a source in the global marketing team of Samsung who has revealed that internal discussions about the alphanumeric system are robust. The source also suggested that this is because the buyers may it difficult to pronounce handset names that end with 11, 12 and 13. “Samsung is aware that after the S10, people may not like the longer names that will come with two-digit numbers, if we stick to the current system,” said the source.
