Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 may get launched in August

NEW DELHI: It seems that the launch of Samsung’s next foldable phone will happen as per the schedule. According to a report by a South Korean publication, the company has started mass production for the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2.
The report by Daily Korea adds that Samsung has placed bulk orders for the components required for mass production with the major suppliers. So, this means that the smartphone will launch in August along with the Galaxy Note 20 series. The report also suggests that this time Samsung will be using the Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) in the Galaxy Fold 2 instead of the plastic display. This is the same glass that the company used in the Galaxy Z Flip.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to come with a 7.7-inch display with 120Hz of refresh rate. Some earlier leaks also suggest that the device might incorporate an in-display camera. It is also expected that Samsung will also upgrade the outer display of the smartphone. The company is expected to include an Infinity V display with a triangular notch instead of the boxed-in tiny display of the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
The market forecast also suggests that Samsung will ship 2.5 to 3 million units this year.
