Reports of breach of data from CoWin without any basis: Health ministry
NEW DELHI: The Union health ministry on Monday rejected several media reports about a massive data breach in the CoWin platform, even as it requested the country’s nodal cyber security agency CERT-In to look into the issue and submit a report.
Stating that the media reports were “without any basis” and “mischievous in nature”, the ministry asserted that the CoWin portal is “completely safe … with adequate safeguards for data privacy … only OTP authentication-based access of data is provided”.
The ministry added that an internal exercise has been initiated to review the existing security measures of the CoWin portal.
