Reliance launches LYF Earth 2 smartphone at Rs 21,599, releases TVC featuring Priyanka Chopra

Reliance Retail, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Monday launched LYF Earth 2 smartphone, backed by an endorsement from Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra.

Priced at Rs 21, 599, LYF Earth 2 smartphone comes with AMOLED display, dual SIM capability and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version.

The new device is a part of mega 4G service launch by Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio Infocomm which is expected to commercially launch high-speed data services by the end of this year.

The retail arm of RIL also launched a TV commercial, featuring Priyanka Chopra. Mega star Shahrukh Khan however, is the brand ambassador of the company’s newly-founded telecom venture Jio.

“Every once in a way something comes along to turn your lyf around,” Chopra said while posting a 3-second clip on a micro blogging site Twitter.

The company’s LYF-branded handset comes under four different series – Earth, Water, Wind and Flame, bundled with a free three-month unlimited data, 4,500 voice minutes and access to premium Jio services for first three months.

The devices are currently available at Reliance Digital and Reliance Digital Xpress Mini stores across India.
