Reliance Jio SIM cards available from Sep 5, to come with free three-month usage

Reliance Jio SIM connections will start giving 4G SIM connections to consumers from Monday, September 5 across the country. Jio connections will come with bundled data and voice services that will be free to use till December 31, 2016.

Customers will also get Jio apps subscription worth Rs 15,000 as complimentary until December 31, 2017.

The 4G entrant is rolling out instant Aadhar-based eKYC activations, which will allow customers to get Jio connections within 15 minutes.

Jio has already activated sales and distribution channels to support the upcoming commercial launch. Apart from a 100,000-strong device channel, Jio has signed up over 500,000 connectivity sales channels for SIM and recharge sale.

Jio’s 4G network will cover 18,000 cities and towns, and over 2 lakh villages. By March 2017, Ambani plans to cover 90 per cent of India’s population.
