Reliance Jio seeks Chandigarh MC nod to lay cables underground

CHANDIGARH: After Fastway and Airtel, Reliance Jio has sought permission from the municipal corporation (MC) to lay down underground cables in the city, taking the fee received by the civic body from cellular companies to Rs 12 crore.

“The company is initially looking to lay down cables in 70km-80km of area, which can be later extended. Fastway has sought permission in more area. The work is based on paper work. The process is being carried out by keeping the laid down norms, fee and other aspects,” sources said.
