Reliance Jio revamps Rs 149 plan: Here’s how it compares to Airtel Rs 169 plan
Arecent regulatory ruling imposed interconnect usage charges of 6 paise per minute for Reliance Jio users. After the ruling, the telco introduced new IUC plans that Jio subscribers have to buy separately with their existing plans. To make it easier for Jio users, the telecom company has revised one of its popular prepaid plan of Rs 149. With the revamped recharge plan, Jio users need not buy a separate IUC plan as it comes with free IUC minutes for non-Jio calls.
After the revision, the plan is now categorised into ‘All-in-One’ prepaid plans. It offers 300 mins free for Jio to non-Jio calls and comes with a reduced validity of 24 days. This is 4 days less when compared with Airtel Rs 169 prepaid plan that has a validity of 28 days.
On the data front, Jio’s revised plan of Rs 149 gives 1.5GB data per day. This translates to a total of 36GB mobile data. On the contrary, Airtel Rs 169 plan 28GB mobile data with daily limit of 1GB. With both these plans, users will also get 100SMS per day. Additional benefits like OTT subscription and others are also available with both Airtel and Jio’s plans.
