Reliance Jio races past Voda Idea & Airtel with 15% jump in Dec Qtr AGR

Reliance Jio Infocomm has stolen a march over older carriers, reporting an over 15% sequential growth in its adjusted gross revenue (AGR) in the December quarter, propelled by strong performances in crucial states.

Market leader Vodafone Idea and second-largest Bharti AirtelNSE -0.65 %, by contrast, suffered 2.8% and 1.7% on-quarter dips in AGR, respectively, stung by the new entrant’s continuing pricing onslaught and the popularity of its VoLTE feature phone.

The Mukesh Ambani-led telco has almost drawn level with Bharti Airtel on revenue market share (RMS) and is nipping at the heels of market leader Vodafone Idea on this score.
