Reliance Jio flags challenges in aggregating technologies for ubiquitous 6G connectivity
NEW DELHI: Reliance Jio said that aggregating technologies such as satellite connectivity, broadcast, and Internet of Things (IoT) will be among the key challenges to ensuring ubiquitous 6G connectivity even as the Mukesh Ambani-led telco has been emphasising “compossibility” as a key mechanism to bring all the connectivity technologies into “one single bucket” at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
“We have to understand that ubiquitous connectivity is a basket of technologies such as IoT, non-terrestrial networks, drones, HAPS (high altitude platform systems), and broadcast. So, all of these disparate technologies of connectivity will have to be addressed, not necessarily under one single grabrail of interface, a single network, it will have to be defined and it will be different as far as 6G is concerned,” said Satish Jamadagni, Head of Global Standards, Technology Development, at Reliance Jio.
