Redmi 8 with AI portrait mode face-unlock launched in India at Rs 8,999
Xiaomi, on Wednesday, unveiled its affordable smartphone Redmi 8 in India. The new device is a successor to Redmi 7 which was unveiled earlier in March this year. The new device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset and gets up to 4GB of RAM. The 4GB variant is priced at Rs 8,999; the 2GB variant will be available at Rs 7,999. The first 5 million units of the top specifications variant Redmi 8 will be available for Rs 7,999.
The device will be available in two memory configurations – 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB – and the devices will come with dedicated microSD card slot with expandable memory up to 512 GB.
Redmi 8 runs on a MIUI 10.0.1.3, based on the Android 9.0 Pie. The new device will be available in four colour variants – Sapphire Blue, Onyx Black, and Ruby Red.
