Realme may soon become an independent brand

Chinese smartphone brand Realme may soon become an independent brand, as per the company officials. Realme has launched a string of smartphones in the budget and the mid-range smartphone segment since its inception and has become one of the fastest growing smartphone brands in the world. Earlier it was a sub-brand of Oppo but in May, 2018, spawned off on its own, though it continued to share resources from the parent company. Both Oppo and Realme are owned by China-based BBK Electronics Corporation that also owns OnePlus and Vivo.
As per a GizmoChina report, Chung Hsiang-Wei, Chief Commercial Officer, Realme Taiwan, said in an official statement, “The brand is expected to develop its own ecosystem in the future, complete with production lines if the business continues to grow at the current pace”.
Some days back, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth had shared an image on Twitter, showing the timeline of all the Realme phones slated to get the Android 10 update in the coming year.
