Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugurates celebration to mark two years of MyGov.in

With a view that Digital India is the destiny of the nation, Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday inaugurated the celebrations marking two years of the MyGov.in platform.

The day-long event will include multiple discussions with officials of different ministries and the grand finale will be the townhall event where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the audience.

Speaking during the occasion, Prasad said that achievements of ordinary people should be given prominent space on the MyGov portal and the portal should act as a medium of transparent governance.

He said that the MyGov team should aim to have 10-15 crore users for the portal. Speaking about the prime minister, Prasad said it has never happened in the history of independent India that a prime minister is seeking comments from the public about the topic of the Independence day speech.

He also highlighted the fact that while there is an economic slowdown worldwide, the Indian economy is growing.

He said that the government works in a transparent manner and it connects with the citizens digitally and otherwise.

About MyGov, Prasad said that the “initiative can be defined as what you think for the country, you suggest for the country, that is mygov”.

The MyGov platform was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 26, 2014. It has 3.52 million registered members and has so far undertaken 589 discussions. The portal has attracted as many as 3.4 million comments.
