Pune CA duped of Rs 2.2 lakh in SIM card fraud

PUNE: A 39-year-old chartered accountant from Dahanukar Colony in Kothrud was duped of Rs2.2 lakh in an online cellphone SIM swap fraud.

The fraudsters contacted the woman in May on the pretext of updating her 3G SIM card to a 4G SIM. The suspects cloned her SIM card and siphoned off the amount into another bank account. The woman lodged an FIR with the Alankar police station on Thursday.
