Provide level playing field for satcom industry: SIA-India to Trai

NEW DELHI: Satellite Industry Association of India — SIA-India has written to the telecom regulator stating that the SatCom industry should be provided with a level playing field on policies pertaining to satellite broadband in India.

“Regulators must include Satellite broadband into this ongoing debate for broadband for all and all future consultations as well,” SIA-India said in its response to TRAI’s supplementary consultation paper on ‘Road to Promote Broadband Connectivity and Enhanced Broadband Speed’.

It further submitted that VSAT and satellite broadband service providers should get incentives just as fixed-line broadband providers get.
