Prasad says setting up data grid, passing data protection bill top of agenda
NEW DELHI: The ministry of IT and electronics will work towards establishing a National Data Grid on a priority basis which with data protection Act could establish the bed rock for localising all data related to Indian citizens, the communications and IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Monday.
The minister listed passage of the PersonalData Protection Bill, fostering start-ups, manufacturing of medical equipment, social media/intermediary guidelines and giving the next push to the ambitious Digital India Program as among the top priorities of the NDA government.
