PM Modi praises rise in patents in India, lays stress on right disposal of e-waste

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the significant rise in patents in India over the last few years, leading to conspicuous improvement in the country’s ranking in the Global Innovation Index. He also cautioned the technology sector about increasing e-waste and underlined the need for its appropriate disposal to prevent harm to the environment.

In his first monthly ‘Mann ki Baat’ address of 2023, the PM spoke on several issues, from promotion of millets to recognition of talent among tribals through Padma awards. He also emphasised on the need to protect biodiversity and the significant jump in the number of Ramsar wetlands in the country.
