PLI scheme created 5-lakh incremental jobs in mobile phone manufacturing: Vaishnaw

NEW DELHI: The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has incrementally boosted 5 lakh jobs creation in the mobile manufacturing industry, union minister of communications Ashwini Vaishnaw said Thursday.

“Due to PLI, the incremental job creation in the mobile phone industry is five lakhs and I am confident that the number will increase in the next five years,” Vaishnaw said at the opening of Padget Electronics’ new manufacturing facility in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
