Planning to buy iPhone 13? Face ID won’t work if you get a broken screen repaired by a third-party vendor

If Apple’s newly-launched iPhone 13 range has you excited, and you can’t wait to get your hands on one of them, you’ll have to remember to handle the phone with extra care.

According to a report in MacRumours, if a broken iPhone 13 screen is replaced by a third-party vendor, the Face ID on it will cease to work. This issue will arise even if it is a genuine and original iPhone 13 screen.

A pop-up on the repaired iPhone will tell users, “Unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine Apple display.”

The issue was spotted by YouTube channel Phone Repair Guru, who in a video called it “catastrophic to third party repair.”
