Penalty for not meeting QoS norms may be stringent

NEW DELHI: The penalty for not meeting quality of service (QoS) norms may be stringent for telecom operators, according to a top official of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

On the sidelines of the India Digital Summit 2023, organised by the Internet and Mobile and Association of India (IAMAI), TRAI Chairman PD Vaghela said that the telecom regulator will initially monitor QoS on the state level which will be followed by district-level monitoring of quality parameters at a later stage.
