Paytm launches All-in-One Portable Android POS device at Rs 499 per month

Paytm has launched a pocket Android POS (point of sale) device with an aim to reduce contact while ordering and making payments. Called Paytm All-in-One Portable Android Smart POS, the device is available at Rs 499 as an introductory price. It looks like a smartphone and can be used to accept orders and payments.
“We aim to issue over 2 lakh devices within the next few months which will generate over 20 million transactions per month,” said Paytm in a press statement.
Paytm claims that this is the first such Android-based device to be introduced in India and is more powerful than the portable Linux based POS devices presently available in the country.
It comes bundled with Paytm’s ‘Scan to Order’ service to enable delivery personnel of logistic players, Kirana stores, and small shopkeepers to accept digital payments on the go.
