Palo Alto Networks cautions telecom carriers about Open RAN security
NEW DELHI: There is an enhanced need for telecom service providers to be cautious in plugging the security loopholes while deploying components from multiple vendors in an open radio access network or Open RAN architecture, according to the US-based company.
“Security is paramount if we decide to use Open RAN, and we need to ensure how we can protect the network. We need to be mindful if we are to use a homogenised network, with multiple vendors and a range of solutions. In essence we are opening ourselves up to more,” Sean Duca, Vice President & Regional CSO for Asia Pacific & Japan at Palo Alto Networks told ETTelecom.
